"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." -Lao-Tzu
I came across this quote at my grandpa's birthday party the other day. I have a little box of "love cards" (little sealed cards that have quotes about love in them), and I stuck one in my grandpa's card on a whim. Since it was sealed, I didn't know what the quote was until he passed it around the table while we were having our post-cake coffee. I found the quote spoke to my heart, and it affirmed some conclusions I have reached concerning my love life lately. When my grandpa, grandpa, and aunt all agreed that the quote held a great deal of wisdom and truth, I felt even more confident in and happy about some decisions I have made recently. It has been hard for me to detect and trust true love in my life because I haven't witnessed much happiness and stability in romantic relationships. But when my grandma and grandpa, two lovely and commited people who have been together for over fifty years, affirmed my belief in a quote about love, I felt very right in the world.
